Gilts
Gilts are fixed interest Government stocks. Essentially the Government borrows
money through the issue of stocks that pay a fixed rate of interest, usually
over a specified period, with a built in guarantee to repay the original loan
normally at a pre-set date. Government backing makes Gilts a very safe investment
option.
Investment Warning:
Past performance is not necessarily a guide to the future and the value of units,
and the income provided from them, can go down as well as up. You are not guaranteed
to get back your original investment at any time.
